I writing a new book on the history of the Hendre Ddu Tramway, one of the more obscure Welsh narrow gauge railways. I have unearthed significant new research, including several previously unpublished photographs. I'd love to speak to anyone here who is interested in the tramway, especially if you have any material that I might be able to include. Photographs are of particular interest as they are so rare, but any notes or recollections are most valuable as well.

Nearly two years ago, I wrote the above, and now I'm close to completing the book. If there is anyone with any information about the Hendre Ddu Tramway, I'd love to chat before I close out the book. This should be as close to a definitive history as is possible given the Tramway closed nearly 80 years ago, but there are still many unanswered questions. Thanks!

A quick update. I have now completed my Hendre Ddu book. It is as close as I can get to a definitive account of the tramway, though there are plenty of mysteries and unanswered questions. I hope the publication may stir some memories and new material. The book will be published by Roy Link under his RCL Publications imprint. We are hoping to have it on shelves at the end of 2019, but it may yet slip into 2020. I hope it will be of interest to some of you.

Well, that was a long time ago. The good news is that my Hendre Ddu book is finally going to print. Due to the sad death of Roy Link, it is now being published by Lightmoor Press. It should be on shelves around December 10th. You can pre-order a copy: https://lightmoor.co.uk/books/the-hendre-ddu-tramway/L9153
