No one is going to propel a support coach that distance, so not sure what you are trying to say.

Quite. Every tour that goes to Stratford-Upon-Avon the loco goes to turn solo.

There is indeed. Wilmcote bank and if I remember correctly it's around 1 in 75 at its steepest.

Dead right!! Wilmcote Bank is a uniform and demanding 1 in 75 climb that extends more or less from the Stratford Parkway Station site to the overbridge 0.4 miles south of Wilmcote Station, visible in the videos of Tornado's northbound approach to Wilmcote on its return from Stratford-upon-Avon.

So about 1.2 miles of climbing overall, and significant inasmuch as the location of the incline offers barely more than one mile of opportunity to gain momentum from a standing start at Stratford-upon-Avon station. The energy demonstrated by Tornado plus Load 10 in surmounting this climb looks like something quite special, as indeed does the passage of Wilmcote staton, with no evidence of easing for the approach to the 50 mph right hand fork to Hatton at Bearley Junction.

Visually, lots of great video and still images from this trip - as good as I can remember from any of Tornado's recent outings. So a big thank-you to all contributors. I just wonder if there was anyone on board who was able to record any details of the performance that Tornado was so evidently delivering?? I suspect that there may well have been some special moments. It would be good to know.

Yes because i know the Gloucester warwickshire from cheltenham racecourse to whinchcombe tunnel is a climb and going up to broadway from toddington is a steady gradient also so i guess G.W.R. Firemen must have had to shovel fast 4 their keep up that grade from gloucester.

I think it is more to do with the turn at Hatton - Royal Scot did not have a support coach during the same movement in September last year
