There's a path for a diesel to Stockport from the same platform shortly after 60163 leaves, so unless they're taking two with them, it seems not.

Rather selfishly I'm hoping for a delay in departure as I'm going through Piccadilly tomorrow but there's no earthly way me and a 14-month-old will get there by 7:55.

FRGT does not indicate freight, according to the RTT site it's as follows.
Network Rail ‘anonymise’ services run by freight operating companies. FRGT is a placeholder for services where we do not have an identity.
So it is a diesel on it's own.

So is the diesel been detached at Man Picc and been left behind at Longsight depot until 60163 returns at 10:20pm in the late evening? According to post#21 from dismal chips.

Seems to be going to Stockport rather than Longsight but that aside, that's what it looks like.

    Dunno why Stockport though.

The class of carriages on this I'm surprised at 10 coaches 2 support coaches, 1 x 1st class D, 3 x premier dining coaches A B C, and 2 standard coaches E.F at the rear I'm in F. But welcome back Tornado on her first full round trip on a train.:)

What I mean is both ways with steam that's all James. The Auld Reekie was steam northbound only.

So what happened on the Aberdonian on 14/3 then as #29 says? Please don't waste space by filling up the thread with unnecessary and inaccurate chat.

Yes included also the Aberdonian. And thus when the 67 pulled into Man Picc I didn't realise the 2nd coach behind 60163 is a genni coach. Sorry big Al I didn't know Tornado did that on 14th march I've not done my research properly.

She was working cautiously up to Albrighton but then further up at the summit of the 1/100 she was extended a lot more and sounded excellent topping the climb from Cosford !

Pathing stop outside Dudley Port omitted as we were back in our original path once we reached there. Some sprightly running so far, especially south of Wilmslow. And very noisy east of Albrighton, even from the ninth coach. Now panning out time on the North Warks line.

On a rather hazy but fortunately bright morning in Shropshire, Tornado approaching Shrewsbury near Hadnall and later seen from the footbridge at Albrighton ( no photographers on the brighter side were harmed during their removal from this shot  )
