Well the reason I said the 09 is it is a whole lot rarer for haulage on the line than the 14, but as is pointed out above the 09 isn't at Williton whereas the 14 probably is so it's a toss up I guess but using one of the mainline diesels would be a little overkill

Just seen an application to Taunton Deane Council for relocation of the ticket office and shop at Bishops Lydeard to the empty office unit across the road. seems like a good idea to enable an enlarged cafe. An enlarged shop would also be a welcome development. Reported in Somerset County Gazette

Link to the planning application http://www2.tauntondeane.gov.uk/asp/webpages/plan/PlAppDets.asp?casefullref=06/19/0005
Looks like to me the shop/ticket office will move over to the "rented" building when work is done on the shop/ticket office and then these will come back over when a proper restaurant will go into the "rented" building.

It does seem odd that nothing was said about this at the stake holders meeting last Saturday as the planning had gone in by then.

D9526 is currently on maintenance, don't know if it will be ready by then. Wouldn't rule it out but it would have to pull at least six coaches and a steam loco which is outside of its current allowance.
If this goes ahead most likely candidates are D6566 or D7017.

There might be strategic thinking and a deal done with the council. Both the PLC and the council will benefit.

Partially agree. The first few days are now shown as a brown timetableand no final details that I can see, but the 2019 timetable is very much there if you go click on any of the days in the calendar, and has only three levels of service, making for less complications than the 2018 version. You may have been misled by the continuing presence of the link to the 2018 full leaflet, which probably could be usefully removed.

What was the original purpose of the brick building to the left?

It was, & is, the original Stogumber station building. It couldn't be on the right-hand side of the tracks because of the steep hillside there.
There was a goods shed about where the photographer is standing.
The cattle loading dock (being restored) is just beyond the station bldg.

    Wait for tomorrow’s photographic instalment...!

BTW it’s in West Somerset’s distinctive red sandstone, not brick.

Interesting the change of station name on the running board. Now that would be fun for the station announcer.
