I have sent an email asking if I can post on this site what was said yesterday or not as I took notes and also said I will send it to them first before I post it on this site.

You do realise that the more people make comments like this, the more it will be assumed that there is something fishy going on?

Such as, for instance, holiday homes and golf courses?

I appreciate that the PLC and some others might want to keep it all 'under wraps'. However, when appeals - and there are a few concerning the WSR at present - use 'public and other web sites' then it seems to me that they are wanting their cake and eating it.

You'll be put in The Tower of London for taking notes and making preparatory steps to communicate information to the other side.

I wonder whether shareholders will get a letter some time soon about future developments?

I would hope that with such an important meeting happening those unable to attend will receive either an e-mail or a printed letter. But I won't hold my breath.

Based on overheard comments at Wightwick Hall's launch today the grapevine is already in full swing so a proper statement is seriously overdue before the management finally lose any remaining credibility and forfeit any chance of digging their way out with a public appeal for funds.

Anybody noticed that it is Sunday and the management team maybe spending time with family / having a day off? Give them a bit of slack and allow some time to write up notes on what was said at the very least. Whilst I can see that it is a very important issue, those involved don't work 24/7 and no doubt are finding this time just a little stressful without a bunch of people having a go at them.

I think you may have misread my comment. I'm not criticising the lack of comment, but those saying that there absolutely must not be any comment.

equally though for similar events someone who has attended will (unofficially) post a quick summary of what was said . The railway press were there and so details will come out through that channel even if official statements are not forthcoming

Was more making a general comment to be honest rather than aimed at anybody

A meeting, an official and apparently important one, should have had notes taken by default.
Comparison of the two sets might be interesting. Only this morning I had to correct someone who had taken notes, in his capacity as 'chair' at a church meeting had managed to get some different interpretations of what was actually asked and said. ;)

    I find this very interesting.

Looking out of my window at Blue Anchor this afternoon I have watched the tidy train team grafting away between Blue Anchor and Washford in the most atrocious weather. These guys probably gave their time for nothing, and have done it simply because they love our railway and want it to succeed. I applaud them.

Then I turn to my computer screen and I see all the crap posted by people, many of whom probably don’t really care about the West Somerset Railway.
(I suspect that many don’t even contribute financially to this forum, and probably complain about the adverts that appear).

I know that there are many genuine supporters, staff members and shareholders who were unable to attend yesterday’s meeting. Believe me, be patient and you will get the the information you crave. And to the others who simply want to knock the WSR at every opportunity, give it a rest.

We have a great heritage railway and with the current leadership and enthusiastic supporters we will overcome the difficulties which we currently face.

I don't see anybody here knocking the WSR. I do see serious concerns, from those who wish the WSR well, about the active suppression of information as to the direction the management intends to take.
