The former Mersey ferry 'Egremont' built by Philip & Sons , Dartmouth in 1951, is about to be scrapped according to reports by the National Historic Ships Register. The ship was sold out of service to become a yacht club h.q. at Salcombe & had been undergoing a refit when this change of plan occurred.
The other former Wallasey ferry, 'Royal Iris' , is still rotting away adjacent to the Thames Barrier.

    Sad news.
A huge liability for a yacht club to take on in the first place?
