Hope you enjoyed their wonderful Pullmans Theodora and Barbara. How amazing to have preserved a pair, I think 2 out of the six that were built. I still have a ticket for the dinner I had in Barbara, for the awe inspiring price of £4.50 (in something like 1980...)

I helped serve dinner on Saturday evening in Barbara and Theodora. Price has edged up a bit.

Bit of thread resurrection, but this seemed the best place for this little gem. I'm sure those more familiar with the KESR than me can spot the locations - the start is Headcorn.

The Shefflex railcar IIRC. 40 mph would seem to be a tad excessive for a Light Railway though.

The sort of junk that makes a Pacer look like overkill.

Seems 25244 has been dragged out of the headshunt at Tenterden and is now in the shed being assessed for overhaul.

Almost! 25244 has been dragged out of the headshunt, and is at present in the C&W shed. I understand that this is due to vandalism, though, and works are being undertaken to try to make the engine more secure.

Sorry, just realised that I should have added this: D6570 Ashford is currently being assessed for overhaul by it's owning group. It has been started, and moved under it's own power, for the first time in a number of years.

Given the paucity of earthworks on many light railways, I assume there was no realistic alternative to the tunnel.

Since the K&ESR once again have a similar ‘new build’ railmotor (a Ford) perhaps they’ll be able to create an updated version of this video some day, although not in precisely the same locations.

Does anyone know what will be running on Sunday? I know it is two locos from a choice of four (376, 30070, 1638 and 25).

I would ask the railway but they are shut until just before the first train on Sunday.

    Thanks in advance.

    Andrew
