I wish there was a 'double-like' button! Great work, and the memorial is moving.

    Magnificent :)

Can't be too far away from completion, surely?

Is it just me, or does 13065 look different after this latest overhaul?:D

But back on track - that looks fantastic!

Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations to the Patriot Project and HBSS to have got this far by the centenary of Armistice Day, considering the setbacks they've had to face.

What he said! Superb! Thank you for the photos and may this locomotive soon take its place as one of the most significant new-builds ever.

Well our locomotive looks absolutely magnificent.......even in red, I always seem to be on the wrong side of ballots and referendums

Gutted at not being able to attend owing to a nasty virus which has me asleep most of the day and staring at the bedroom ceiling most of the night. I’ve been, along with my company significantly involved with the Patriot from it’s first awakenings and it is so heartening to see the project reach this important stage. Next stop Shap summit!

The AGM was well attended and a fairly comprehensive explanation of the problems with Llangollen explained. It's bound to be a set back but the team are very positive that things will soon be moving forward again. It's not for me to make any comments, that's up to others.

The unveiling, and dedication ceremony was very moving with Simon Weston making a thoughtful speech. Grit in the eyes seemed to be a problem for many of us.

Very impressive indeed! Thank You for sharing these photos again Gavin! As British Rail used to say - "We're getting there"... Except we are getting there!

I see Simon Weston unveiled the nameplates. A very good choice, I been privileged to hear him speak twice, a very humbling and inpirational experience

We heard about the problem with the British Legion, and then the problem with Crewe, but I don't recall hearing about a further set of problems with Llangollen. Can we be told?

What has gone before dose not interest me. Please will people help us finish this engine. It will take many types of help from financial through to organisational skills and practical engineering. Every little bit helps and the reasons behind the engine are deep and meaningful. For that alone please help us to finish the job.

Couldn't have thought of a better way to spend the Remembrance Sunday afternoon than with 5551. First time seeing her in the flesh and it dawned on me just how far the team have come with this fine machine. I was struck by the effectiveness of the new crest design, much better than the British Legion symbol in my honest opinion. Great to speak to members of the team and to hear their enthusiasm for her, I'd always donated when I came across the stall at galas but now they've convinced me to join for proper! Can't wait to see what the next two years bring, Long Live the Patriots! DSC_3752 (2).JPG

To quote a great man "I may have been on the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one"
