The road bridge at CrowcombeHeathfield, Minehead side, gives a good view of the trains approaching CH.

Advance-purchase tickets are cheaper than on-the-day. You can still buy advance purchase as it will be sent to you by email as a ticket you can print out yourself or save on your phone.

Oh okay, thanks, that's useful to know. How much is the price difference, do you know?

Looking at the ammended timetable the team have done a good job in damage limitation. There are not many diesel runs so they should be easy to avoid.
One question. How and when will the diesel return from Md to Bl on Thursday and Sunday? Light engine after dark. First thing in the morning?

Approx 10% cheaper in advance on most tickets.

Hopefully copies of the revised timetable will be available during the gala.

Good spot. Hopefully some one knows. A light engine move in the morning would be great to photo, don’t believe I have a shot of the 33 alone yet

Hopefully as an insert to the guide, with copies given free only to those who got their guide in advance.

What I like about the MHR's way of doing things is that they give you a WTT with your ticket on the day, and put it on their website, so if there's any last minute changes of loco availability it's easy to amend it without upsetting visitors who have paid for a guide that's out of date.

…..and the Mid Hants guide itself is free (or at least its included in the ticket price). Best solution all round I think.

No light engine move - I've just spotted the diesel on the rear of the 1740 ex Minehead. Not sure if they will drop it off at the diesel depot at Williton though or whether it will continue to BL ready for its Friday turn.

EDIT - Just seen train arrive at BL complete with 33 :)

Has it been announced what’s wrong with 6046? Hopefully nothing serious.

Hopefully it's going back where it came from soon. I get the feeling that its visit hasn't actually been a great success - how many times has it failed?

And Camelot looked good at the head of the Quantock Bell train.
