    When the saint is done i hope they focus more on some of their own locomotives. Having only 2 locomotives at didcot isnt good.

    I got the impression from one of the volunteers when I visited approx 18 months ago that firefly ought to be a relatively straightforward overhaul given the limited usage and mileage it has done since built.

    Pendennis, 2999 and one of the small 0-4-0 saddletanks are all due in traffic relatively soon which ought to ease things- I have been following the progress on 3650 which seems to be getting dismantled at a pace.

    A few pages ago I nominated the other GWR Mogul, 7325, as the SVR's 'back of the shed' loco that I'd like to see make a comeback. Maybe somebody was listening. From the article on the return of Hinton Manor in this month's 'Branch Lines':

    WSR web site is talking about 9351 been returned to steam in Autumn 2018 so, even if the timing slips back it should be back in use for the 2019 season.

    Maybe it is just me but minus the tanks it looks very nineteenth century

    Great minds think alike :) But more seriously, it does have a wow factor about it and I think that any line you ran it on you would get a crowd because it is so unique.

    I’d want it to run at the IOWSR... well just because.

    It is odd because you would think that such a unique loco would get more attention but it seems like it really has got lost at the back of the shed in Bressingham

    Isn't a pannier tank a Dean goods just without the tender? As regards William Francis, yes take it to the Isle of Wight, in fact take it on tour! Let's see how it copes up the bank to Goathland!
