    Hi all,

I've put together a video slideshow featuring all of my dad's steam photos from 1968,along with original audio recordings taken by John Tait (RIP) which until now have never been published. All the recordings were taken from Mid-July 1968 onwards, and features mainly a run behind 44781 from Preston to Manchester on 18/07/68

    Enjoy:

    Regards,
    Mark

Thanks for sharing those Mark. I'd just left school and started work for the S & T at Lancaster in the May. Our 'patch' was Woodacre - Hest Bank, so I was lineside (or up a signal) for the final summer fling. I couldn't turn out to watch 1T57 ...too painful. God know's where those 50 years have gone!

Oh, dirty happy days. Viewed through rose tinted glasses, of course.
Thanks for posting and although they generally looked tatty there were still some good steamers and riders about.
