Not really, you just ask everyone to leave so the loco can be moved into place, and then re-admit only those with the 'full' (or coronation) ticket .

I suppose the NRM is concerned that someone could take two identical shots and use photoshop to create '4 A4's'

Really i think that this price is a smart move by the NRM. Passengers on the "Coronation" (of which i am also one) should get the best shots seen as though they have paid plenty of money in the 1st place! By no means should someone just turn up and expect to get a shot free without paying seen as though that would mean someone who has paid £xxx.xx getting pushed out by someone who has paid Zilch! Although £32.50 is steep i think it is the best decision, after all it is only fair......
Perhaps a lower price would suit all but DEFINETLY NOT free to non ticket holders......

I wonder if we can get enough people together to talk to Air Atlantique and get some real value at probably not much more outlay - just a thought!

    Public accusation so public reply:

Sorry Frank, can you PM me exactly what you claim has been edited? I've been through the logs and can find no evidence of any posts in this thread having been edited. Are you sure the comments you're looking for aren't in the 68 thread?

yes Ben - unreserved apologies are due - the subject of charge levels has become thoroughly mixed up with event quality in the 1968 thread to the point where I completely confused myself

I accordingly unreservedly withdraw the comments two posts up - but will leave the post there for the sake of continuity, as to do otherwise would simply result in head scratching

Are the tickets sold out yet for this event? We are still considering coming up to the event even though we are not impressed by the price. But how many times are 4 A4's going to be together? Like my friend says we can still have a look round the NRM as well.

Do you really need a tripod to take photos of static locos?

A longer exposure when coupled with good use of ND and Grad filters can make for a better picture if the photographer knows what he is doing. The NRM have taken the time to set up an event, the visitor has taken the time and money to attend, so he should lavish that time on his art and not rush to compose and take a decent picture.
