Wasn't intended to be negative at all. As you acknowledge, the demands of working three days in a row makes for a harder life for the support crew, and that was my point.

Reported on WNXX that RTT is currently having problems with feeds from NR's system hence is liable to error if anyone is depending on it for progress of the Lakes Express (or any other train !)

However working three days in a row is better for the loco than being cooled down and heated up again.

The combined power of 45212 and 60103 just didn't notice the 1 in 650 gradient north of Norton Bridge earlier this afternoon but a very 60s image for this line. ( Buffer beam torch removed by me in PS )

A Question -- when did Scotsman last double head with anything ?
I know it went from York to Newcastle and back in the summer of 1975, I was on the train, but has it ever done it since ?

Nothing on the S&C. Blue Peter and Gresley have double headed is the closest to it.

46100 double headed with Scotsman 13th September 2017, but only two POB's in tow. Does that count?!

Nice. I'd earmarked that spot for a photo myself, but when I opened my sealed orders it said ALDI in big letters.:( (Other supermarkets are available.)
