The 503 has gone into storage at the old hornby factory in margate. It'll have good company as A4 bittern is also there.

Also heard from a fbook post that the 501s owners have finally pulled their finger out & found it a home. Not been announced where yet but can't be long until it leaves as there's not much left now at coventry.

The last items have left the site and that more or less concludes ‘Operation Dunkirk’. There is some final mopping up of track and buildings to do in the next couple of weeks and then all is done. Everything got out of there in one piece and is looking forward to a new life.

There is a full list of what went where here. http://www.emus.co.uk/ERM2018Final.pdf

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Suburban Electric Railway Association still exists?
I know their stock was dispersed as per the above link, but presumably they still own the stock?
There is nothing on their website http://www.emus.co.uk to indicate what, if anything, has happened since then.

Yes the SERA does still exist, they only have a limited number of vehicles under their control now. More is at http://www.emus.co.uk/

The Heritage Electric Traction Trust HETT now has ownership of the 4 SUB and the Wirral 503 unit. They are in covered storage at Margate in Kent. More is at https://www.hett.org.uk/

Let us hope one day that they are able to be re - united - with the 309 that has just been saved at the Lavender Line perhaps.

I was under the impression that the original lease was for 17 years from February 1986 until April ish 2003 but was you say the lease after that expired and was only renewed on five year terms. Not on terms that would have allowed its long term development either from what Graeme Gleeves once said to me on Yahoo!
