The next leg with two 'Jubs' should produce a spectacular climb of Beattock...wish I was there to witness it!

Now that 35018 has a)been repainted into BR green and b) the leak has gone, what on Earth are we all going to froth over now?!

BIL sounded and looked superb over the S&C by the way... thanks to everyone at 10A for their hard work!

Video took at Blea Moor by Joseph (Monopodman using a tripod and panning shot) of 35018 in sun and in fine form.

Much as I surmised, it is looking almost certain that 45212 will replace 60009 on the last two days of GB XI.

I am also expecting 45699+61264 Edinburgh-Perth Inverness on Sat 21 April, and
    45690+45699 Perth-Oxenholme on Mon 23 April. But I could be wrong........ !

Can anyone confirm the traction for tomorrow for Edinburgh to Perth please?

    Many thanks

In which case I guess 45212 will require some form of rear end assistance to ascend Parkstone Bank. Would be nice to think 31806 but, I suspect something that consumes diesel is more likely.

i'm assuming that 34046 isn't available then, mind you will all the gauging issues nowadays, a black 5 will be the only engine that will probally fit from Cardiff to Yeovil,

well 31806 is down to assist Yeovil to Swanage, I don't think that has changed, I would expect that she won't be gauged further than Yeovil but there's a week to go before that, ideally it would have been an ideal opertunity to have brought BIL back onto home metals, but any steam is better than no steam

So does everybody else, sorry chaps, no stop at Lockerbie we were straight onto the bank for an absolutely amazing assault of Beattock, I did not see ONE photographer during the climb, I really hope there was at least one videographers to witness it, it was absolutely stunning.
By the way I surreptitiously slid my video camera out of the toplight and took a few minutes of poor quality footage but here's hoping the gun mic picked up 2 jubilees in absolute harmony, taking to the job in hand, it was my holy grail fulfilled.
    Offers to......

Is there a weight restriction on the Forth rail bridge which may preclude double heading over it?

Looks as though the ten miles from Beattock to the top were covered in about 14 minutes. Obviously that's the equivalent of one Jubilee with only five (assuming that the load is still 10). But even with 11 that's not hanging around.

There were just a handful of us two thirds up... by which point Galatea had shut off and Leander holding its work. But not five minutes once past a mass flock of photographers appeared!

GBXI was running three quarters of an hour early on Beattock according to RTT. Fortune favours the early!

No problem Cardiff-Yeovil. I think the gauging issues loom large on the final day beyond Southampton.

Yes, not being over familiar with Beattock and concentrating on my rapidly cramping thighs whilst videoing:eek: I assumed the change of volume meant one had shut off for the loop, not realising it was too early, but as you say, It must have been just 5690 doing the work, why it had shut off, I know not ?

What's going on in the loop. You had a big gap between other services and could of came out by now. Getting mauled by midges at the moment.
