Why didn't you call RTC to check before posting unfounded rumours on here?
A post like yours could have generated a lot of unnecessary calls to RTC.

So what was the problem? RTC are usually pretty good at getting in touch if there's a cancellation up to a couple of days before.

At first I assumed it was because of the weather as looking on the MetOffice website there's an amber warning in place for tomorrow in the Buxton area so thought it was that but an update off Mr Shuttleworth said it was paperwork related.

Hmm the snow thing could be interesting. By chance I happen to be on a course in Glossop on Sunday with a room booked nearby for Sat Night. Taking that into consideration it would be terribly rude not to drop off en route with camera around the Buxton/Hindlow area on Saturday. I was sat on my patio in the blue sky and 21c sunshine this afternoon pondering how on earth the howling sub zero mini beast is less than 24 hours away.

I was expecting to see 45157 (45407 in disguise) at the front, but if it's to keep the train warm as a diesel on the back is unlikely with the reverse then I can see the point. When was the last time we had a double header with a black 5 and jubilee but it was the Jubilee on the front as pilot engine.

If you rang RTC twice and they told you it was running what was the point of your post saying someone had told you NR had stopped the tour then ?

The answer is unless you get the news from one of those directly involved i.e. the tour operator or someone 100% in the know like JS don't post anything.

Ian Riley's posted photos on Facebook showing them prepping 45157, so he clearly reckons it's going ahead

So far so good on my Transpennine positioning move, too. It's early yet, though!

I took a low risk strategy, drove to Preston, just arrived, roads relatively good +2° here, 4° colder in Haworth.

I travelled on that train and was privileged to get the chance of riding on the footplate of 45407 from Garsdale to Ribblehead
