On the other hand, you can't appeal a decision to grant PP, only a decision not to grant PP. (You can of course petition the Environment Secretary, but very expensive and rarely successful...)

Not quite so. An appeal can be made to the High Court on the grounds of "material informality" in the procedure for determining the application which I suspect is the reason the National Park Authority has been so cautious.

Lets just hope they havent jumped the gun... local media can be even worse for facts than national, sometimes.
I'll wait for the official announcement.

Think we are ok as they are now reporting it as their main news item with a full report soon.
Mind you they did call it the Lynton and Barnstaple Narrow Gorge Railway so maybe we are getting a different route than we thought :)

Latest news from Lynton is that the planning meeting seems to have gone - well - according to plan! :)

More detail to follow as soon as we have it... (or check out the L&B Website - I'm sure it will be posted there very soon...

Ok. That clinches it, I guess.
TFFT, I havent got any fingernails left!
Brilliant result, a huge HUGE well done to everyone at the trust for such a massive effort.
So I guess that is, as Churchill called it "The end of the beginning"
    Bloody brilliant!

BBC Media Player installed .... got Devon station .... music inoffensive .... offensively so ..... still waiting for update .....

'Environmental vandalism' was 1st comment. Wonder who that was!

"5mile extention approved". Lot's of 'passion' on both sides.

Louise Grob and daughter Ella Hunt 'Disneyland theme park' (who actually employ quite a lot of people IIRC)
'We need peace and tranquility and dark skies' Dark Skies? What the actual f..... ? Did I miss something about searchlit night operations?

Pros. Ian Huntley (L&B) "benefits to rural economy"

Conditions: Money has to be in place before work commences. There are others, but I'm no good at dictation typing. Sorry!

More on Spotlight Tonight at 18:30. Not sure I can get this channel..this media player is new to me.

Hold hard- its the TWAO first. Im not sure if the RVR have even submitted theirs yet, but their planning permission was granted almost a year ago, so a lot of hard work, negotiating, and midnight oil to go yet!

If you can, you may want to watch Spotlight South West on BBC 1 at 6:30 tonight
Try this link for the lunchtime bulletin.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09tm4wg/spotlight-lunchtime-news-06032018

You probably won't be able to catch the 6:30 programme live unless you are in the South West, but it should be available later in the evening...

Not really an appropriate response given the negotiations that lie ahead. Best to keep it civil.
