If you switch your intelligence chip on a re-read my original post there was no complaint. It was a simple question. If you bother to look, on RTT there is an option to detach the diesel and return it to Steamtown. 48151 was a late option for this tour due to an early return to the mainline. Again, the question was is all not right with 48151 that they felt the need to provide assistance. I'm not sorry that the facts deny you your ranting narrative.

Oh and I am a customer on one of these, again just look up thread. Posting without knowledge or even bothering to check what you are posting about is dangerous Are you going to buy tickets???

No ranting here. It was a lame attempt at Sunday evening comedy - the good acts are all saved for the Friday and Saturday slots. :)

"Dangerous". Oh please! You are a treat.

Superb shot of steam crossing the Lune on Carlisle bridge. Took me back to my childhood when we spotters hung around near the bridge on Bank Holidays, hoping to cop a 6'er on the Morecambe - Leeds line and not miss anything on the WCML!

    Thanks for sharing.

Many thanks John - it was hard to imagine how the Lune was 2 years ago, in the wake of Storm Desmond, looking at its tranquil state tonight.

I'm delighted to hear that you are booked on one of these trips. I am sure that you will have an excellent day out, if you allow yourself such the luxury of enjoying it. You will also see at first hand how completely irrelevant it is to the overwhelming majority of passengers if there is a diesel in the rear or not as noted earlier by @Shep Woolley . Enjoy the trip.

I see that 30910 notes on his video that the train was brought to a halt at Whalley station, I wonder what the result would have been on Wilpshire had there been no diesel on the back.

An 8F plus 13? Who knows, but more to the point, who is prepared to risk it?

Maybe the best thing to do is to ring WCRC at Carnforth and ask them. [IMG]
