Would look more realistic though. A black loco would be even better

Oh no? I would have thought that the vehicle's identification would be a good place to start - and so seemingly does the poster who asked the question. Thanks to @sycamore for his answer.

Didn't know that BR ever built any observation saloons (so ive learned something there) I wondered whether this vehicle had been converted from something else and also whether it had a corridor connect at one end ( seems not). WCRC certainly have some interesting pieces. What kind of Bogies does it currently sit on.

Thanks Peter, I always forget that one because it passed under the radar at the time. Have altered the caption to steam passenger train;)

Looking at the headboard I would suspect that they were looking for something potentially authentic, plus even with that load would she make it over Copy Pit! ;)

Thus proving the superiority of a Black 5 in extremis over much else. The only thing better than a black 5 is two!

Personally I'd prefer a crab... Unfortunately we'll never find out what two working together would be like.

I was on the train and video'd on a Sony Camcorder. The feeling of trepidation was in the air as the Black 5 almost stalled but just managed to get to the top of the hill. I thought it was a brilliant achievement. Many have asked me to post the video but never got around to doing it. Need to convert from Sony tape first, I guess.
