    I remember that, I was about 12/13 and being totally unconvinced by it! The giveaway for me was the tender totem being rather faded for a supposed ex works loco!

    It fooled some people though. The Bulleid Ultras were less than impressed. Some of the letters were a tad vitriolic. :)

    Seem to recall 45699 made a similar short foray prior to other longer test runs. Any idea what function it serves given the not inconsiderable track access charge probably incurred?

    Testing TPWS/AWS/OTMR/NRN etc ?, I struggle to think what else you can do on a short NR stretch thats more difficult in Carnforth yard.
