How do we buy one if we can't get there for the 31st or the 1st?

I don't know but will try to find out.
Also, I have edited my original post as general public sales of the mug are apparently only available from the Sygnets' stall at Corfe Castle station on Saturday 1st April. My sincere apologies for unwittingly misleading forum members about availability on the 31st.

Southern Locomotives Ltd have announced a Strictly Photo Competition. We're looking for photos taken over the gala weekend featuring our locos. It's mainly for fun and to help build a gallery of photos recording the event, however there are two prizes, copies of Richard Green's loco-in-profile prints of our locos. Full details here: http://www.southern-locomotives.co.uk/News/news.html

As scheduled - 34053 Sir Keith Park arrived on Wednesday and 34092 City of Wells on Thursday.
According to Real Time Trains 34052 Lord Dowding (actually 34046 Braunton) travels to Swanage on Tuesday: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50730/2017/03/28/advanced

For those travelling please note that the TT is different than normal gala in that trains pass at Corfe and Swanage.
Because of this not many trains are calling at Harmans Cross and none at Herston.

Look at the TT for more details.

Does someone know which way the Bulleids will be facing for the gala? I assume 34046/52 will come in smokebox first and so face Swanage.

34070 faces Norden. 34053 and 34092 have arrived facing Norden, and the plan is for 34081 to face Norden as well. 34052 will face Swanage, as will 80146. That was confirmed on a Facebook post by the Railway a few days ago.

The frames of 34010 Sidmouth ,residing on 30-Ton Bogie Bolster Wagon B923235 at the moment, were moved down to Corfe Castle recently.
They are now berthed in the Dock siding at Corfe, allowing passengers to view them from the end of the Up Platform or across from the Down Platform.
I have been informed that the lorries bringing 34081 92 Squadron are due to arrive at Norden, from the NVR, on Wednesday.

I can't see 34081 going from Bridgnorth to Peterborough to Swanage in 2 days? I would think 92 squadron will come from Bridgnorth.

Thank you for the correction. Forgotten it was appearing at the SVR!

So do you have to buy a separate (and second) ticket to ride the evening train? The website doesn't clear things up much. What the charge for this evening service? Sounding like it'll be a lot easier to go into Swanage for an evening and leave the trains for the daytime.

Managed to blag the day off work on Saturday. Looking forward to this event, an event I was not expecting to attend and if it's anything like the galas Swanage put on yearly, one I'm really looking forward to.

Noted from the timetable that Herston will not be served. Not sure if I've missed it but how is the works tour being served?

Herston Works is a short, level stroll from Swanage station (approx 10 mins).
Altho Heraton Halt is not served all weekend, its probably quicker to walk from Swanage to Herston Works than it is to walk from the Halt to Herston Works.
Incidentally, the Team Herston volunteers who look after and maintain the Halt will be holding its monthly work weekend this weekend , supported by a number of soldiers from the Royal Signals under the 'Swanage Army Link' arrangement. Pop down to say hello and take a few photos!

It's about 15 minutes walk from Swanage station. The chaps on the SLL stand on the platform will have a map and can give you directions. BTW, public opening is 10:00 - 2:00pm, Saturday and Sunday.
