Anyone thinking about buying a Pentax K1 full frame camera. From what I've seen and heard its looks to be great camera and the price isn't that bad to. With a K1 camera body retailing at £1599.00. I'll be digging deep in to my pocket to buy one in the not to distance future.

It's been some time since Pentax released their full frame K1 camera and I see one or two members on this forum have purchased a K1. Could someone post their thoughts on this camera.

    Thanks

Yes I am an active volunteer
I have only had my K1 for a couple of weeks (I got a 2nd hand one) - I have used it for some railway photography. I have a large range of prime and zoom lenses to fit as I have been shooting Pentax since I went digital. The K1/DFA 28-105 combo gives a weathersealed kit very suitable for railway photography. It seems o me that the K1 partners well with primes- I shot a night shoot yesterday with the K1/FA43 - as I was co-organising he shoot, I did not have the time or opportuniy to change lenses or even use a monopod. The K1 worked well on the whole, the higher ISO shots are nice with a decent dynamic range, but less of an improvement over the APS-C K3 than I expected; however I have not yet mastered post processing of the K1 files, whereas I have had 3 years to get used to K3 raw files. The KI files process nicely in DXO 11 though.
Size-wise, the K1 is scarcely bigger than the K3 and the flippy screen is nice for live view....

No I do not currently volunteer
I'm just with the guys from Pentax at the Photography show and they are looking at attracting enthusiasts and have a suitable stand
