Looks like the diesel is following, wonder if they will attach at the water stop.

Don't have the gradient profile to hand but the Duchess managed the same flyover last week without any bother.

The usual journalistic drivel. Do you write for the Sun or Daily Mail?
As per another post, 46233 used the same flyover last week without a problem.

As ever One swallow does not a summer make.
The Duchess has run that way before, equally class 47s have run faultlessly and failed miserably at different times.

Much to the delight of the gallery - all two of us - she was still on the main at Arlesey and going very well indeed. Just a pity about the crap light. 46233-Arlesey.jpg

Don't worry about the light, look at the finish, clean but with just a slightly weathered look, perfect.

Not sure if it was the occasion you are referring to but I was on trip many years ago with 6024 that had dreadful trouble getting away from Leeds. We were taking a first time railtourer with us...never saw her again.

46233 remained on the ECML all the way to York. I guess the 47 will be joining the train for the return ?

Realtimetrains shows her arrival at York as 13:443/4 [118L).
Because of this lateness I'm not sure if return: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50746/2016/12/10/advanced will be retimed. I suspect loco servicing time will decide the issue.
    UPDATE
Seems to have set off around 92 minutes late at 17:04.

Glad I'm not onboard with my wife - my ears would be bleeding by now.

Looking like a late departure out of York. light has gone at Colton. Pretty poor show for everybody involved. A good steam run to York out of KGX is officially over !

It might well be for the best to put a 47 on the front as train engine and then try to get the paying public home in as good a time as possible. If it is felt necessary to leave 46223 behind in order for this to be achieved then so be it.
