Presume 9466 will still need water, and Bromsgrove - New St is busy, while it clearly can't do it alone, I'd be feeling shrt changed if 9466 wasn't allowed to do it's share.

Yeah I know , it just backs up a point,
That I've always made the diners don't seem to care long as the foods good and they get it when its ment to be served,
Can understand some people bailing for reasons best known to them,Just saying not something I would do.

Thick end of four hours ago (before the Moor Street stop) passengers were informed that departure from Worcester this evening would be as planned and on time, this still stands so arrival times for setting down should be no different and certainly not 100 minutes down just because earlier on in the day was.

if thats the case then bailing early to make sure you get home is off the table,
hope those who did bail were made aware no refunds will be offered cause the train still ran,

Disappointing day for all concerned, 9466 seems to have settled down well on it's return to the mainline. Here's my video from the outbound & return leg over the NWL. Enjoy =)

    As
As I said. We knew what would happen in the end. Before leaving Tyseley we were told that the water stop would be missed out and that the train would leave Shrub Hill at 17.30 as scheduled. No ambiguity. No Need to fear about onward transport at the end of the tour.

I managed a few shots at Danzey as the train returned to Tyseley ... Shame its all gone wrong. Would have been great to see the sparks flying in the dark returning up the Lickey later on!

Still an enjoyable day out and full credit to VT and WCR making something of it...The 'Duff Pannier' just about to come into Worcester to collect passengers for the return. :)

Situation further declines. 47 is tucked between 9466 and support coach. Chance of hearing the Pannier doing the business severely reduced.

Actually there is a family on the next seats to us. The father is the enthusiast. It was the mother and the daughter who were most vocal. I quote the mother "I don't want to ride behind a diesel. We came for a steam ride. " We generalise diners at our peril. The Mrs is not best pleased either...

I appreciate what everyone has been saying, like a few people who bailed I've had to make a silly a clock journey up. However put this in the perspective of vintage and it's crews and appreciate the year we are in and the age of the motive power. I appreciate I'm near the front since Worcester in coach d but since we've left Worcester all I've heard is 9466.

The Type 4 was only ticking over when lt left Shrub Hill and plenty of noise from the 94xx. However between the 94xx and the paying public is the Type 4, the water carrier and the support coach - the latter the only one with heads out of windows so I must presume the support crew are within guage.

I notice on Open Train Times that it's stopped at Bromsgrove station and 1M61 is about to pass.

Well they obviously didn't read the T&Cs at their peril.

No. That was not what was explained to us in the coach. We were told the 47 would stay on the back. Hence my comment earlier.

A couple of shots on the North Warwickshire Line. Top and tailed just south of Bearley Junction, then double headed through Danzey Station. Nice to see double Panniers on the main line again, even if the weather was a bit grim.

With great respect, I think you miss the point. The attraction of the tour was 2 panniers over the Lickey. Cut that by half and then add a diesel, what is there left to enjoy? Those aborting early can get home and watch Strictly!!!
