Hello David, Is it possible to have copies of these pictures for my cataloguing of the parts we now have at the National Tramway Museum. The links do not work.
    Many thanks

Is there any news on Avonside 0-6-0ST No.1600, the derelict and crash damaged gate guardian at a Manchester Scrapyard? It was supposedly purchased for preservation a few years back, but last time I checked had not moved.

    Couple i'd like to add:

2MT 46428 - Once people thought it'd been forgotten about. However in the last month or so it's been extracted from behind bury south SB & shifted to outside the standard 4 group's workshop. Word is that once 80097 is in traffic then 46428 will have it's rebuild started, gonna be a long recovery road as it looks truly wrecked!

7229 - Large prairie 2-8-2, supposedly recently moved into the works at bury for assessment, so hopefully on the comeback.

9F 92134 - Not totally forgotten about but was lurking at the crewe heritage centre for donkeys years. Now resident on the east lancs & about 2yrs off completion, boiler being returned in about 4-5 months then just needs finishing off & a tender sourced as it ain't got 1 at current. Gen comes off 1 of the ELRs loco crew members.

9F 92219 - Resident at leeming bar on the wensleydale railway, not sure what the future holds for this 1. Sat in the yard hopefully awaiting overhaul, just the loco though no tender with it.

Nene Valley - They've got some foreign steam locos, only 1 that was in use was the polish 0-8-0 tank. Plus there's some belgian? locos in the yard but dunno if they'd be in gauge for the uk in terms of rail width or platform clearances etc.

Just to put the record right with regard to 46428. The restoration has already begun.

A bit of a late update from 2013(!) - but it's at the Blackrod premesies of Bryn Engineering, partly stripped. At least it's not in a scrapyard anymore. I don't think there is crash damage, but it's a very woebegone specemin, albeit complete with rods etc. I think you would need to replace everything apart from frames, wheels, motion and cylinders. It's name is Robert and it was latterly at Cronton Colliery, I seem to recall.

The 0-6-0T is called 'Meteor', it used to work on the NYMR many years back I believe. The major parts (boiler, frames, wheels etc.) are on wagons at Merryfield Lane although I think that the firebox has a large hole in one side of it.

I was the fireman on its last day in service. On the last trip back from Pickering, the leak in the firebox was such that it was putting the fire out. We got back to Grosmont and it was driven up the headshunt and just left. A long time ago, now; 22nd September 1983. It was a great loco when in service and I'd love to see it running again. It took six mk.1's from Grosmont- Pickering and back with no difficulty twice on that last day.

Sounds like quite a day! It's currently privately owned, I don't think that there are any plans to restore it atm.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the whereabouts Bayer Peacock Pug 1827 seems to have gone off the radar after it left the Churnet Valley/

I assume not at the moment as its buffers were missing last time I saw it about 3 weeks ago.
