Avon Valley Railway End of Season Gala 'Industrial Roots' - 15th & 16th October

    This years End of Season Gala takes place over this coming weekend (15th/16th October), and takes on the theme of 'Industrial Roots', featuring motive power commonly seen in an industrial setting! An intensive timetable featuring both passenger and goods trains will be in operation on both days.

    Loco lineup:-
    • Avonside 1764 ‘Portbury’ – courtesy of the Bristol Harbour Railway
    • Manning Wardle No.14 ‘Charwelton’ – courtesy of the Kent & East Sussex Railway
    • Polish Ferrum TKh 4015 'Karel' – first gala appearance since major overhaul
    • Hunslet Austerity WD 132 ‘Sapper’ – on long term loan from the East Lancashire Railway

    Day Rover prices:-
    • Adults - £15
    • Concessions (Over 60s/Students) - £13
    • Children (Aged 5-14yrs) - £8
    • Children (Under 5 yrs) - FREE
    • Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children) £42
    All discount tickets and vouchers will not be valid over the weekend.

    The first passenger service is at 9am. A working timetable will be available over the weekend for £2.

    A couple of photos from today of the guest locos. Also, the public timetable is now available on the website. We hope to see more people at the event tomorrow!

    An excellent gala very much enjoyed.
    An escorted shed visit by a very knowledgeable and friendly guide was a highlight
    The freights were impressive whilst the non-stop quadrupled passenger was great fun!!
    Do visit today if you can-all 4 locos have an interesting history as indeed do many of the non working locos
