Does anyone know if 34053 is working tomorrow after its failure today? I saw 7812 in light steam today, could that be running?

SVR Bridgnorth on FB:" The braking system was worked out and fixed by Ian Walker and SKP returned LE to BH so assume it's in action tomorrow..."

Love this look on a Manor, BR Green, white door handles and buffers, and preferably a CCE headboard, the proverbial mutts nuts, just need a black Dukedog tucked inside.

I'd like to think one day Mr Meanly would take 7802 under his wing and set off towards the coast...

I'd settle for any steam on the Cambrian now, Dovey Jcn and points north is a beautiful line, 76079 is sorely missed.

As a member of the owning group we never say never re running 7802 (or 7812) on NR. That said it is unfortunate indeed that the most appropriate line for that was chosen for conversion to in cab signalling. Overcoming that hurdle for steam seems still to be a long way off if ever. Otherwise the amount of potential work set against the cost currently rules NR work out.

Have to say I'm amazed that the Welsh Assembly Government have had little, if anything to say about the loss of a near daily train load of folk arriving in N Wales by steam & spending their hard earned £££s there. But then compared to the SW Wales still doesn't seem to understand the benefit things like that!

SVRLive has been updated with several news items in the last few days, including 4566, 34053 and 813. It's intended to use this more from now on.

Next year 4566 and 7812 boiler certificates run out. To be replaced by 76079 to be painted black or green and 7714 I don't know if there are any other changes likely for next operating season.

75069 will be in lined black and late crest as the tender is already completed. Towards the end of the year, 13268 should be coming close but will more than likely debut early in 2018.
4566 finishes in January, 7812 is around Easter time IIRC.

April for 7812, with an application for a 6 month extension likely to be made in the hope of getting another summer out of her.

Didn't sound to be too much wrong with either 4566 or 7812 as they roared up to Bewdley tunnel last weekend! Is a quick overhaul possible for either? Seems only yesterday that 7812 hauled the reopening special for the SVR following the great storm washouts, a boiler ticket seems to get ever shorter..

From the last SVR web round up:

"Agreement has been reached between the EMF, SVR and TLW [Tyeseley] as to the overhaul of 7812 with the overhaul to commence as soon as the loco is withdrawn for traffic. There has been a target date by which the SVR would like the loco back but that is dependent on a number of factors during the overhaul (Chris Field on Facebook)".
