Quite a large number of people were out to see Tornado at Sydney Gardens today. The majority of those were members of the public with young children. How nice it is to see a family waving enthusiastically at a steam train. The crews responded by waving back and adding a number of blasts on the whistle. The families were overjoyed. Well done to the crews. <BJ>

Two shots from this morning. 60163 speeds past the MURCO oil terminal at Theale and later stands on the bridge over the River Avon at Bath Spa.

Impressive shot from Bath, likewise the one from Theale.

My shot of Tornado passing Newton St Loe near Bath on her return leg back to London. Enjoy.

Not the usual turnout at Wokingham station last night. Met a couple in their 80's from Hong Kong who were with their granddaughter who is at UCL University, waiting for a Waterloo train and told them to prepare to see a steam train (had to do the chuff chuff impresssion for them to fully understand). They were absolutely thrilled and as I bid them farewell with handshakes, I know that some people back in Hong Kong will soon be told the story of a steam train in the UK. I hope my video of the train last night which I will post later, will capture their presence.

The once sleepy, peaceful, barely used Longcross, likely to change as the MOD Chertsey site becomes a huge business park/housing estate.

A couple of shots of Tornado at Bedwyn and Woodborough on Wednesday. As well as Lapworth and Eardington on her run to the Severn Valley Railway yesterday.
