    She could definitely do Shap (and then probably Beattock) unassisted with that much hot air powering her.....

    Surely not if it's the usual 11? There are past history and familiarity with loco and route clauses that would surely apply to Guardsman?

    How do you know it will be diesel accompanied? It's not normal over Shap.

    Think back a couple of weeks to Leander being well and truly pushed up Shap,a few remarked around me that 45690 could hardly be heard

    But as mentioned many times in terms of power output a Jub is scarcely a class 6 whereas a Scot is virtually the equal of a class 8.

    Whatever is in the front (noted 46115) was in steam at carnforth yesterday evening, they have a lovely day for it...

    Amazed those two kids on the platform completely ignored it even when 46115 whistled, only realizing after it had gone past that it was 'different'!
