That's all is needed, might be some things that can't be done, But if they are taken on board and looked at, its better then a flat out no,Without looking.
The feeling i've got from friends I've spoke to is they feel they wasn't listened to even after they put comments through the right channels, Hopefully this is the start of a change to that culture,

Sure that once people see things are changing they may return to the railway,Would make trying to convince them easier and god knows, I've tried to convince them.

    Hi

I'm planning to visit friday the 5th and wondered what way 44422 and 53809 were facing?

Also are they likely to be turned before then as im travelling but wish to get a shot of the 7f and 4f at some point during the day too.

    Many thanks

How about introducing night running during next years diesel gala

  14. Martyn, good to hear you are planning a visit. One way of establishing which way locos are facing is to view the webcams nearer the time. Not foolproof of course!

If you mean running all through the night, I can't see that happening. Firstly, I can't imagine there would be sufficient demand to make it worthwhile, secondly, it's difficult enough to get sufficient volunteers to run the day trains, I would imagine it would be virtually impossible to get even more people to volunteer to work all night as well.

I'm wholeheartedly with you on that, and for the same reason. When I am driving on a SVR steam gala, I only ever print the schedule and timings for my turn.

I too want to be surprised by what turns up.

Speaking purely as a signalman, I prefer it when things turn up when they are supposed to.....:)

It is pleasing to see timetables showing Diesel / Steam available for the lsw weekend at http://westsomersetrailway.vticket.co.uk/product.php/30/late-summer-weekend

Unfortunately the link for the Saturday timetable does not appear to work. Presumably that can be easily fixed by someone with such powers.

It would be also useful to differentiate between Diesel and DMU in the timetable. It being presumed the aSunday afternoon BL-WN-BL being so formed if I have interpreted things correctly.

I'm not too fussed as long as I get the usual offer-accept-TES sequence beforehand!
