Always a cracking jovial atmosphere on board.

The fact we've had some excellent running with the Scot over the passed 2 days makes it even better

Another fantastic day with some.spirited running with the Scot out of penzance once the 10am hst cleared infront of us.

Some excellent noise and the climb of dainton was rather.something :)

A trundle along the sea wall at.Dawlish following the unit ex Paignton to Exeter although not.ideal allowed the view to be fully appreciated on this stretch of.line in the lovely sunshine

A stretch of good quick running through Bridgwater through to Worle finished the day off nicely.

It wouldn't be a Gb tour if it didn't.throw up.the challenges with locos for the forthcoming days ;-)

Presume there was a bit of a slip with the strikeout function, as the 60mph issue has been brought up earlier.

I've just watched 44871 + s/coach + diesel pass Patchway (outskirts of Bristol) at 20:37 en route to SPM.
44871 was running along nicely with the diesel hanging on for dear life. ;) <BJ>

I think it is and notice that for reasons best known to Network Rail they seem to think it will take an hour longer than in 2006. Clearly there are pathing problems with the other service running on that day!

Four shots from today. 46100 crossing the Tamar, accelerating through Newton Abbot and at speed (not really... very slow shutter speed!) through Yatton... and finally 44871 at Cwmbran tonight. I was rather lucky with 44871, as forgetting that it was around, I got off my train at Cwmbran at 8:01, and the 5 came through at 8:03! It was a good thing I'd checked RTT just prior to getting off the train as I had time to get the camera ready in case it was in sight as my train pulled in. Thankfully I had 30 seconds or so to get into a decent position.

As well as Driver, Fireman, Inspector too! :)

Certainly wishful thinking!! She only completed her Test Run on Monday evening / Tuesday morning and the Loco Engineer (of 34052 "Lord Dowding") seems to been a little busy on a particular loco for the last two days! So not sure how many places he can be at the same time! :D

Following the news about the Duchess, now 45407 will not be available either.

Quote from The Works : Unfortunately, due to events with 44871 and re-deployment of our staff to deal with repairs, 45407 will not now be complete in time to join 44871 on this Railtour.

I dont like posting on here, and will not do on here for previously stated reasons, but the above quote is an abbreviation, pinched from a post on our site....the original post stated; Unfortunately, due to events with 44871 and re-deployment of our staff to deal with repairs, 45407 will not now be complete in time to join 44871 on this Railtour.

Once again, our apologies, but we are doing our best........but I have confidence in 44871 delivering what is required in the absence of her sister..

I wish 46100 was available for more of The Great Britian after these 2 days of flawless running and due to the news 45407 and 46233 have developed. A certain 8f located in Carnforth, I think would come in handy for some of the Scottish legs with 44871 north of Edinburgh. What shall do Beattock now? Northbound as well Southbound?

The last Thurso trip was actually in 2007 - the UKSteam sheet has the wrong year.

And yes, there are pathing problems with the other services - this year's tour has a 35 minute stop at Forsinard to cross the only other train of the day on that section!
