That would be nice. I might be tempted to book. But I wonder if she would fit? I seem to remember that when 46115 came South for her trip to Weymouth she was limited to where she could go down here.
I wonder if WCRC have a Royal themed Diesel to haul the trip?

I heard this morning that work is being carried out on Tangmere, ( I do not know what) and that it might not be ready for GBIX and the likely substitute is 45407.

If Lizzie isn't ready, I would expect that a high-profile substitute is being sought and 46100 and 46233 are the only contenders here. Pure speculation on my part, I hasten to add.

If I remember correctly the no Lizzie no Tangmere message on their timings page was against all three trips. It does not now come up against the two trips on the 21st. Neither is there any reference to any necessary gauging requirements. Their booking page listing has diesal hauled for this Wednesday but still shows Lizzie for the 21st.

Very interesting. To book or not to book that is the question......
I still have some credit from last year to use up (from a diesel hauled train when the B1 failed) but if the Jubilee is still subject to gauging I fear I might get some more credit from this trip.

You can guarantee if Galatea makes it south, it will be boxed assisted where ever it goes ! Will still make for a fine sight over the Surrey Hills !

It probably depends on whether Steam Dreams asks for a length of train where unassisted steam is not possible.

Let's be hopeful. 6233 has worked the Surrey Hills route in the past, although I am aware that this doesn't guarantee anything and that gauging checks will be necessary.

Assuming all is well, for all the moans about Galatea's red colour scheme, I for one will be pleased to see it in action down here. Not quite what I was expecting, but certainly something a bit different.

We''ll have to build a wall at watford gap to keep you northern sightseers out. The mexicans can pay for it.

Not sure about the 21 April but won't be on the 23 April Stratford upon avon unless NR got their gauging wrong last Saturday, remember she was taken off train at Satley? was told the gauging problem is at Wilmcote, we couldn't understand why because Rood Ashton Hall goes past there on the Shakespeare's and with their wide cylinders if a hall can do it usually anything else can.

It was specifically the 21st trips that I was referring to. Should know about gauging by Tuesday.

Has a Jub run on the North Warwickshire line since Kolhapur in the late '80s/early '90s?

Gauging issues with Jubilees ate not usually with cylinders (like the Halls) but with height or cab roof profile. Sometimes gauging problems are merely caused by use of badly formulated gauging models of the engine.
