There is a slightly unusual VSTP WCRC schedule for a move from Carnforth WCRC (11:23) to Southall Locomotive Services (20:39) today (Tue 12 April). There is no headcode in the system as yet, This might involve steam but is liekly to be diesel hauled. The unusual element is that it is going to Southall Loco Servcies depot and not Southall WCRC ?

Yesterday a WC 33 Jim Martin and a short rake of mk1s were stabled in a siding next to the ballast factory just north of Euston.

Could this simply be a way of WCRC using Southall but not the West Coast part of it?

RTT regularly confuses the two parts of Southall depot so I wouldn't be getting excited, no that I know what the move is.

A little bird tells me 34046 has been certified overnight, had a facelift to look like a DRG Class 05 (minus a couple of wheels), renamed to Sir Arthur Travers "Bomber" Harris," and will be in charge of tomorrows Cathedrals Express. NR have said they intend to blow up bookham common tunnel tonight to ensure it will fit.

Looks like it will be 47580 + 47760 running light 0V42 to work Cathedrals XP Wed to Bristol in place of 34067. Will confirm later. AN

And the destination may be because the diesels cannot access WCRC Southall, perhaps.

Looks like it's box hauled according to UK Steam.
Why wasn't it just cancelled lock & stock? It's been known a while that 34067 wasn't available.
SD are really bad for this, they rather run with a box instead of cancelling because they know they will get away without giving a full refund & maybe only knock a tenner off if you are very lucky!
In a nutshell mainline steam this year is heading towards an unmitigated disaster. This is not including any WCRC ban which was a separate issue.

Buseng, since we do not appear to have any representation from SD on this forum I can't really see the point of you asking the question.
