    Any rumours/news on any potential gala visitors for the East Lancs event yet?

    Usually a great gala to look forward to, relatively not that far away now...

    Thanks in advance.

    Latest issue of Steam Railway (451) appears to have answered (in part) the "special guest loco", included in the line-up quoted in the advert is 45871. There was rumour that Ian Riley & Co found enough spare Black 5 bits when moving to help construct yet another. Did they do a "new build" super Black 5 that all the mag's kept banging on about and kept it under cover (Carnforth style)? No doubt this is a running-in turn before a full launch to the press on the morning of 1st April.

    How will 46233 get to and from Bury in view of the current WCR situation, by road?

    There is a plan in place which we hope will see 46233 on the ELR next week.

    On the list of locos for the gala on ELR's website, 46233 has now been crossed out.:(

    ELR Facebook;

    Due to the unavailability of crews to move the loco on Network Rail, LMS Stanier Coronation Class 4-6-2 No. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' will not be visiting the railway for our Spring Steam Gala. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

    I was getting concerned that no path had appeared in the system for 6233, a real shame she won't be there. I guess any movement not in DBs diary e.g. Belmond is going to be tentative.

    Better to try and fail and all that...

    Wonder if there will be a problem moving 60103 from the NRM to the NYMR ;)

    From Faceache regarding 46233....

    There was a crew available, but NR would not gauge it via Manchester Victoria. Copy Pit route was mentioned,
    but NR said no.
    That's only what I've read, so I don't know if true or not.

    Heard similar. With the whole WCRC thing we forget the previous obstacles that have been around.

    At least it's raining. One less.

    From where on Faceache, didn't the ELR say crew issues and I would expect them to know?
