Should be 5619 working hard up to Ipstones, should sound great. Should see the approach to bridge 5 on the way up, cut a lot of trees there the last couple of weeks. P. S. Its the one after the road bridge.

Hi, I have been on the churnet valley today, and have to say when when things go wrong that is how to handle it! The train could only go as far as Cheddleton and could not go to Ipstones. The staff communication was brilliant , before selling a ticket they said the train might not run, during the trip they came round frequently to apologise and offered not only a second round trip in the valley but a voucher for another Ipstones trip. Well done!

Sounds a lot better than when I visited for the 2014 gala, and no one really seemed to know what was going on. Not particularly a criticism by the way, just an observation.

Yes, bit of a gas leak was discovered this morning curtailing our services. All fixed by this evening, but we did our best to improvise as best we could!

Had a look at the locos in the MPD on Wednesday, hoping to see the two S160s were in a good state. 5197 still has her boiler off but 6046 is looking better.

    Nice pics Neil.

I was down at Podmores last Saturday and saw 5619 doing footplate rides and she was looking and sounding great. Fingers crossed the end of Feb Gala should be good.

OAPway were out changing pads this week. [Harwich for the continent, Cheddleton for the incontinent?] Team of six managed four panels in the time we were out.

    Afternoon,

A few shots of yesterday's work party with me, Jon & Howard. Quite a productive few hours!! Note the view from Nature reserve crossing has now started to be cut back opened up!
