    Steam up 2015

Whilst the event will go ahead this weekend, only 1091 and Justine will be in steam.
Normal fares (£3 adult) will apply (as opposed to the £5 adult we were advertising - but that was for 4 engines in steam) and as ever tickets are ride all day. "Chakka" & "Tourska" will be out on display.

Hope some of you can make it.

After a lot of work Tourska was steamed yesterday for the boiler inspector, who came to Toddington late afternoon. Pleased to say their efforts paid off and the loco now has a boiler certificate, so will be steamed this weekend and run double headed (not air braked yet).

October 2015, The Lister rail truck is given some exercise at the North Gloucestershire Railway at Toddington.

Seen here having a run along the NGR line. Having been brought out of storage, the Lister was also used to demonstrate shunting in our yard during the GWSR's autumn diesel gala and for a large re-shunt of wagons & carriages for our winter layover in the days after.

I've also added a "Stock" list to the website, just the locos for now but will be added to as and when.

Of special interest, our 1906 Jung "Justine" will be bowing out of service after this Easter Sunday and Monday (27th and 28th).
I hope some of you can come along and have a ride behind this wonderful little engine.

Our season got underway this Easter with the last steaming's of our 109 year old Jung, "Justine".

Her boiler ticket will expire shortly but you would not have thought it was 10 years since her last overhaul by the way she was performing. Here's looking to a (fingers crossed) relatively short lay up period for her.

A big thanks to those that came for a ride on Justine, it was for us a successful Easter, just what we need when a major overhaul is looming.

The narrow gauge railway is located adjacent to the standard gauge Gloucestershire &
Warwickshire Railway at Toddington, postcode GL54 5DT. Free parking is available in the

Our operating dates for 2017 are now on our website...
    http://www.toddington-narrow-gauge.co.uk/

Kicking off 2017 and not listed on our website as it is not public running, on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April the Toddington Narrow Gauge Railway will be taking part in the GWSRs recruitment fair. If you’d like to know how you could help our small but dedicated band of volunteers run and maintain our short but interesting line why not come along that weekend. You will need to register with the GWSR, full details on their website, see the link below.

Despite the long gap since the previous post, we did run in 2018 and 2019. But like many others we didn't run in 2020 . But we have now just re-opened. After a long period of preparation including rehearsal running days, we carried our first passengers on 25 July.

We plan to run every Sunday and Bank Holiday in August and September. Yesterday we used our Simplex diesel but we hope to use steam locos shortly. Justine (Jung 1906) has completed a full overhaul and may be out on 1 August.

Please come and visit us. You might even want to join and become a volunteer.

Great news, I've missed waving as we went past on the big trains! :) With Justine now returned to steam, will No.1091 be looked at next? It's always the first loco I think of on the narrow gauge line, it'd be nice to see back.

1091 has been stripped down with cab, tanks, etc removed. It awaits assessment of its boiler before overhaul can start.
