And here is the vid, and you will see why I didn't know if it had a diesel. Taken from the temporary footbridge at Taplow we can now see real visual changes to the GWR.

"Changing the look of Brunel's historic railway forever". Well yes, but not for the first time. It had already been converted from broad gauge, and then (along this stretch) quadrupled.

Sigh - For the sake of the pedants.

"Before it is no longer possible to see the track under a forest of wires"

Mind I always assumed some folk on here were born over a hundred years ago.

Yes great climb to Savernake, 61.3 min after 69.5 at Bedwyn. Fire went dead for a bit after that but overall an effortless performance by Tangmere in perfect nick being driven by Pete Roberts, an old hand of course, being ex Nine Elms.

Almost the same as another Class 7 - Britannia with the same load, earlier on in the WSSE series - 69 at Bedwyn, 62 over the top. One cylinder less and Ray Churchill at the helm. :)

Here’s my video. One clip of Tangmere at Cogload Junction and some nice sounds from Raveningham Hall on Washford Bank and Stogumber.

As most seem quick to point the finger when it all goes wrong, Well done Tangmere, support crew, WCRC & all involved in Saturday's trip. A good strong performance all round. Most likely get banned now.

Don't see why. Tell it like it is. Praise where it's due, as in this case. Sympathise when things go wrong, despite best efforts. Give constructive criticism when there's a cock-up.

A little late, but here's what I witnessed near Crofton on Saturday morning.

Glad I did get out of bed in time to see and hear Tangers

Can you expand on that please - do you mean financially, numbers of passengers carried, problems (or lack of) occurring during the tours - something else?

No, they didn't. There was one scheduled for 15 August which was cancelled due to lack of stock.
