Not picky, just attempting to set the record straight!

And GWR are Middle Chrome Green, not brunswick either...

As to your second question - when she's finished... :)

I have to say there is a rather nice Silver Lining to 60103's overhaul taking so long. What could be better than an in steam Flying Scotsman in 2023 for it's centenary? That can't be bad can it?

Better to default to black then. At least it will prevent the next stage in the argument as to which paint manufacturer produces the most authentic hue.
It looks as though the painting is due to occupy time until October. Testing does not normally take place with the paintwork fully finished and Ian seems to be rather keen on the testing aspect of the work. Proving a point? Don't blame him.
No updates since the beginning of May but the job will have moved on significantly if the speed that the Black Fives get worked on is anything to go by.

Same could be said of 6100. That's been ticking since 2009. I'd have thought both would be given new ones.

Makes sense to me, but, what shade of black? Jet Black or that mythical LNWR "Blackberry Black"? Is a poll perhaps required for final choice of livery.

I think that bee in Rivet Counters bonnet will be buzzing into apoplexy by now!!

    Cheers

Hasn't 6100 had a boiler overhaul in this latest phase?
