The Welshpool & Llanfair Railway has lost its workshop foreman to LNWR Crewe so I guess recruiting staff from other railways will fill the roster...

Steve, why is this so? The loco is connected to the tender by a fixed bar coupling, what is the problem? Plenty of multiple units have the compressor not on the leading vehicle..?

Count and Countess? Which railway do they run on? Certainly there's a Countess on the W & L, but, a Count?

    Cheers

ORR is Office of Rail and Road. Can't comment on the rest if the articles accuracy though

If the Advertiser's reporting of this is as accurate as their reporting of Swindon Town FC I wouldn't hold out much hope.

as i said in my post 413 above

the editorial states much of what we know of events surrounding what NR and ORR has done already or intends to do - but the SwAd says the criminal investigation is underway whereas as before we were of the mind that one might be - i think this is one of the better press editorials i have seen from local media

Actually it seemed to me to be a pretty fair report of what has happened - especially for a newspaper.
