perhaps standard class 2 tank and tender and their LMS equivalents might work plus standard 4 mogul and LMS equivalent. Not really what I had in mind though

Well, if you insist on having a Pannier Fest, you need to have the best.

A cheaper event would be a GWR 4-6-0 gala. One loco and a selection of name/number plates. :)

We do get your point, but are adding a variation on it.

feel free to discuss your variations in your own thread.

  12. I think Austerityfest would be more entertaining. Comparing the various detail differences in bunkers, cab windows, (former) underfeed stokers, paint jobs on one hand, and you upset all the "nothing but a loco which once ran on the main line is good enough" mob at the same time. Double the fun :D

A bit like the 5 (9466, 9600, 3738, 1369 & 6412) at Didcot in June 2000 you mean? Would like to see 1501, I just need to make time to go to wherever it is.

Often discussed an alternative gala at foxfield using all the oddities such as the flying bufferbeam, the Port of Par bagnalls, Blue Circle, Sir Vincent, a Cockerill... etc!
