Just a quickie, has anyone got any ideas what sort of times this train is likely to be around Ribblehead either way, have reason to be fell walking in the area and wonder whether I can work around seeing the steam through?

Edit, with a bit of searching about as there is nothing on RTT yet it appears to be due in to Carlisle at 1328 and then leaves again at 1614 so I can probably work around that albeit southbound will be dark anyway.

I'm told that it's now NR policy for FS hauled trains to not release the times until late the evening before.

Not forgetting that it's via the WCML to Carnforth when FS is attached on the back for the run to Hellifield.

Done the three peaks way too many times, plus getting a bit too old for that caper.

As its meeting up with a group of friends I have not seen since pre Covid I suspect too much refreshment will be taken this evening and the walk will be little beyond a walk up Pen-y-Ghent and either coming off back to Horton or following the 3 peaks route to Ribblehead.

    Thanks

Once was enough for me. When I see a footballer go down with cramp as if shot, I think of coming down off Ingleborough that day. Even Penyghent is a decent walk if it is blowing a gale. Anyway I see the timings were roughly right.

Reports from on board, at the moment in Broughton loop but S&C is said to be closed so alternatives are being worked on, Skipton maybe?

I guess that cancellation at very short notice was an option not considered as contacting the 350+ passengers would have been virtually impossible. So with the help of NR who already have so many problems it looks as though something is being sorted.
