A 37 should be as quick to prep and start as a 20. Might take marginally longer to inspect, but only a few minutes.

I would have said the 37 is if anything easier, because everything is accessible on walking through. However, there is little in it in reality. Most diesel electrics can be in service (if not winterised) in the time it takes to get the air pressure up and test the brakes.

6023 now appears on the SVR website roster page and will hopefully be operating test trains from 27th February to 1st March between Bridgnorth and Highley. The King will be top n tailing with a Class 50.

"After the latest (18 02) Windows 10 update this week, SVRLive doesn’t work on W10 desktops, laptops, and tablets – just displays a blank page. I’ve reported this to Wix.

All other browsers and types of device work. The site management / editing also work on Edge/IE.

There’s only 2 ways to fix this at the moment – uninstall the update (which we don’t recommend), or use a different browser.

We currently get around 25% of users on Edge/IE."

    Thanks

    Patrick

Thanks, feedback is it seems to display a blank page when using IE/Edge with W8 or W10 but other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) are unaffected.

No sweat with Linux Mint either..... (My PC is a Microsoft Free Zone - Windows 10 was the last straw!). :)

    Three steam trains this weekend!

As an extra special treat, all services on March 3rd, 4th, 10th & 11th will be steam-hauled!

With three trains in service, there's lots to see and do from either end of the line. We'll have three beautiful rakes of carriages attached to the steam engines, including our glorious Gresley Teaks, dating from 1922. And don't worry, they've all got steam heating...

    Steam trains depart Kidderminster at 10.15am, 11.35am, 12.55pm, 2.15pm, 3.35pm and 4.55pm, and Bridgnorth at 10.40am, 12.05pm, 1.25pm, 2.45pm, 4.05pm and 5.25pm.

There may even be a visiting locomotive out and about!

Every journey ends with a memory...

A reminder that when introduced it was 2 steam + 1 diesel, as an alternative to 2 + 0. The diesel turn was an extra, not substitution, to fill up gaps in the timetable when it was uneconomic to run 3 steam.

In addition, the SVR is running with five of six available locos this weekend (1450, 1501, 7714, 7802 'Bradley Manor' and 43106 of the home fleet, plus 80072 on hire). Rather close for comfort?

Ops did a full run of the line early today to check everything is OK

    This weekend (March 3rd & 4th) all services will be steam-hauled with 1501, 7714, 80072 & 43106

Public passenger services and Footplate Experiences are running as normal this weekend. Despite our best efforts, Morning Coffee, Afternoon Tea and Severn Valley Railway Limited dining services have been cancelled, with customers being contacted by telephone as soon as possible. We apologise for any disappointment caused

    (so no 1450).

According to the Unofficial SVR FB page, the turntable for Bridgnorth has had the foliage and other natural products removed from the metal work. A few photographs with little comment was posted.

I don't think there is much for them to comment on at the moment. I believe the greenery has been removed and that is all so far.

That is truly excellent - the almost constant movement both evoking the motion of a working train and the sense of progress together into the future!

A template for any organisation designing a short recruitment and showpiece video.
