    I have uploaded two collections of photos of these preservation projects.

    The first records a trip in August on the Ffestiniog's Welsh Highland line from Porthmadog to Caernarfon behind Garratt 143:

    The second records a visit in 2010 to the Heritage Rly, which was the original Welsh Highland preservation project. It has an excellent museum, home to original Welsh Highland 2-6-2T Russell, and a short running line:

    Not rivals. The WHHR has a stand at Dinas this weekend at Superpower (as it also did last year at Beddgelert) and WHHR Chairman Martyn Owen attended the AGM of the Welsh Highland Railway Society in Caernarfon last night. The heritage offerings - both current and planned - are complementary.
