My videos (10 at the moment) are at http://www.youtube.com/user/Garthion They mainly feature Echills Wood Railway stuff at the moment with 3 from the Conwy Valley Railway Museum in June there too. As I do more of these videos, so the better I get at making them, my latest will be going up soon (A ride around the Conwy Museum line with Jud driving the Sprinter ;)) it features music at the opening and closing credits and has a cut in the middle when Jud and Martin Neeve got off to make some fine adjustments to a point that was a little out, I just faded it out, put a caption in and faded it back in, there is even music covering the gap in the audio :D Quite good for an amateur :D

    2968 & 7325 on the Lickey Incline, 1997.

Here's a blast from the past. I've just posted a video of Stanier mogul 2968 and GWR mogul 7325 climbing the Lickey Incline on 22nd Nov 1997. This was the first steam on the Lickey since the 1960s. It's recorded on Super VHS using a not-very stable tripod, so not up to modern standards, technically. Pretty dramatic, though, I hope you'll agree. Taken from Steam Age Pictures Vol 21, Mainline 1997-8, available any day now!

After you've watched my version, have a look at PSOV's shots of the same event: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QpQSFMK3F80. Please don't watch theirs before mine, though, or you'll notice all the faults in mine!

So they had a two cameras out and were at the lineside, you were further away and your camera was very likely nothing like the spec of theirs. You clip conveyed the moment just as well as theirs.

    Re: Railway Video's on Youtube

Can anyone recommend some good video editing software. My uploads are just the raw image usually with wind noise that I'd like to remove

    Cheers

Other than removing the sound track, there is no editing software to remove wind noise from video's.
I suggest you have a read of this topic .... viewtopic.php?f=49&t=15836

Enjoyed your videos from WSR Bill. We are going to try the shot at Castle Hill some day, looks good.We only had half a day for Somerset in Autumn and that was just around Williton as the King is under repair there.

    Re: Railway Video's on Youtube

    Hi everyone,
Started adding some of my archive collection and started with some material from late 94 and early 95. Features 45698 Mars at the East Lancs, 44767 on the climb to Copy Pit, 70000 Britannia northbound at Ribblehead on the Settle Carlisle and also on the S&C 75014 piloting 70000 Britannia southbound at Ais Gill. Next to upload will be Mrs Beets Ivatt class 2 No 46441 returning from Appleby southbound and running tender first at Ais Gill. There is plenty more interesting and unusual stuff to add, just a matter of time!
It's all filmed using my old Sony U-Matic format recorder and 3ccd Sony Camera and a Beyer Dynamic microphone with full wind gear. Very heavy and quite costly in it's day.
Have a look at some memories
    Regards John.
