With 34046 or #9 slated for the first outing of The British Pullmans behind steam this year do we have any idea which one?

My money, for what it's worth, is on No.9 as it has to come down to London for other tours in February whereas 34046 would have to make a special, one off, return journey.

I think there are still a few problems to clear up with 34046 before it can run so I assume nothing’s definite yet

On Belmond's website the 16th is not down as a Steam Hauled trip.

I’m sure it is, just a matter of which loco. I believe it’s a private charter not a public train.

It's a public Mary Poppings tea train around Kent.

There might be two trips that day, there is definitely a private charter that will be steam hauled.

Must be an evening train then. The Mary Poppins special doesn't get back until 16:05.

Belmond's website now describes the 16th as a Steam Hauled Mary Poppins afternoon tea train around the Surrey hills route.

Does anyone know why today's run has left Victoria 38 minutes early?!

Does that mean it will be early all the way round?

That was why I asked. RTT shows it as in the normal timings at Shalford for watering. It shows it losing time from the early start all the way 'til then. Bizarre. RTT also isn't reporting it at any intermediate passing points so far!

Powering nicely off of the Byfleet Junction and through New Haw station 3 down, lovely bit of the sun also.
