2885 to be craned out of Birmingham Moor Street

    Not sure a line possession would be required as the nearest running line is separated by a platform with a sizable canopy on it, though you could see why the platform itself and the road which it's being swung over would need to be closed, not that Moor St is a hive of activity in the middle of the night anyway, maybe a couple of ECS and possibly a freight on the through roads 100 yards away.

    Yesterday afternoon. Yellow signs warning of road closure on Saturday night have appeared around Moor street.

    it will not be lifted til approx midnight sat as there is a train due from london just before 12 strikes, road closure from 6pm, to allow crane to be set up,

    its been a hell of a job to get this date, with bus company and highways..........................will not go down very well with then, rgds john

    Bit harsh Mr Creese: something might have changed in the intervening month. I for one have no idea whether these things can be arranged quickly if there's an opportunity or if it requires weeks of statutory notice.

    Just out of interest does anyone happen to know what plans the owners of the loco have for it once it has been overhauled? ( In other words which Heritage line it might be destined for?)
    In fairness that might well be a decision they dont need take at this stage!
