Not heard about a return to steam. Just that she was going to be restored cosmetically. I'd probably say some confusion.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,

Interesting that,Lee, I like you (and everyone else) assumed that it was a cosmetic overhaul only costing circa £50K............. so its either a journalistic reporting error, you know how excited they can get around a steam loco! Or a rather rich benefactor has come forward, as the last I heard monies weren't exactly streaming in................................ and you'd be looking at at least 10 times the money to steam her again!

Maybe Antony can shed some light on this............

As nice as it would be to see Winnie stretching her legs on the mainline, or over the Alps for that matter, I don't think in reality its going to happen.

I'm not a gambling man, but my money is for her to be looking shipshape and Bristol fashion.......................... its not as if we're short of Bulleid or two running around with more in the pipeline!

    I heard it to..
It's going to be painted labour Red, renumbered 34501 and named Clement Attlee.
Bransons behind it, he's had enough paying for class 90's for his pretendolino services, wants something patriotic to hide behind, 100 mph capable for 2-3 days per week.
He was quite impressed with Brauntons overhaul and seeing Tangmere in his way,and how posh Clan Line looks on the VSOE... And said I want one of those.

First train is in 236 days ...

Have WCRC returned the bits they borrowed off it yet, when 34067 failed on a trip at York ?.. A few years back...

Wires are probably well and truly crossed. He probably meant that they've raised the £35k needed to do the cosmetic overhaul.

What has been the largest number of working bulleid pacific in preservation at one event I can not imagine it is more than 3 I stand to be corrected.

4 at the Bluebell Railway Giants of Steam weekend in 2007. 21C123, 34028, 34007 and 34081, gutted I wasn't there that year. I don't know if any event has matched or exceeded it.

I was there and a great turnout it was too! I have lots of photos of the event! But has this been the most in Preservation?

Not an event, but if you visited the ELR works site at any time in 2012, you'd have had 34046, 34073, 35009, 35022 and 35027

True but the question was centred on how many working Bulleids had been seen together at any one time in preservation.

Are there any updates on 34092. All I can find are a few pictures of her looking relatively complete taken in early March.

That has always been a particularly quiet overhaul. No matter, it'll emerge one day, no doubt.

SKPs re dedication was covered on BBC local Midlands news. I am wondering what that will do to tomorows loadings, SKP is due out on BS2 tomorrow with 8 on and I am the guard!

Does anyone have a spare pair of white passenger shoving gloves they use in Japan - only joking

I caught SKP on the return from Bridgnorth at Trimpley Reservoir. Loving the flags!

It was a good day, and all seemed to be having a pretty good time, on and off the train.

That could have been equalled in May 2009 when 34028; 34070; 35005 and 35028 were in attendance posed with 850 Lord Nelson at Eastleigh Works Open Day.
