Currently stuck somewhere on the North London line, due to over running engineering works, signal failures, and alledgedly a crane tangled in the overheads somewhere.

Not going well at all. Hasn't even left London.
Now starting from Finsbury Park instead of Kings Cross.

47 is on the front as far as Peterborough to try to make up some time (and conserve water), but we are now stopped at New Barnet awaiting an ambulance as somebody on the footplate has been injured.

Not good news. The report I had was stopped Potters bar awaiting ambulance and that from a passenger on board. His knowledge of GN suburban stations needs an upgrade by the sound of it. :)

Someone has posted on the Steam traction threads about a serious blowback with injuries to crew members.

I was waiting at Hadley Wood and was told by a GN local train driver that the train was stopped at New Barnet and that two of the footplate crew have received burn injuries. I sincerely hope that, if this is correct, the injuries are of a minor nature.

That's not great. Could be gone 11pm by the time they get back to King's Cross.
