Has anyone who subscribes to Steam Railway received their latest copy yet? It was due out on the 12th of November & I usually receive my copy a day before the publishing date. As yet I have not received the 12th/Nov issue.

Mine came on Saturday, day after I could have bought it on the bookshelves. Second month running it's been late, not a good advert for taking out a subscription.

Looks like I might have to get on to them if it does not arrive in the next couple of days. This is the first time I have had an issue. (no pun intended!)

Mines not arrived again either. I find it happens about once a year... usually around this time of the year.

Mine arrived this morning. But yet Tesco in Crawley had it yesterday and WHSmiths in Crawley had it Thursday which is the day before it officially comes out.

OK so what does Mike say about the performance of 5043 over the S&C then, particularly in respect of the diesel?

Reading this it seems to be a widespread issue & not just me. Thanks for the info.

Yes, have now got my copy of this months mag.

New editor, give him time to bed in but is it me or was there even more (if that were possible) about the Great Central then previously?

I didn't think the bias to the GCR was too bad, if anything Heritage Railway is more biased than SR now, I never thought I would say that!

Still no copy in today's post so rang Bauer subscriptions who are arranging a replacement copy to be posted out. Told them that other people were experiencing similar issues but she maintained there were no problems or delays that she was aware of...

So a three page report on a gala, two page interview with a driver, article on new diner train, 'gala' of month (Nov), and a preview of a Jan gala isn't biased??

KWVR and East Lancs galas between them got a few paragraphs and three photos, East Lancs reported over 10,000 visitors in the week and KWVR gala was busy as well.

I thought that as well. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come under the new editor. The ELR and KWVR articles were more a combined article informing us 73129 has returned, very little mention of 60163's first visit to ELR and the overall success of its visit. Surely the KWVR and ELR galas were worthy of their own separate articles?

I cannot believe this!!!!!!!!!! As it did not arrive today I rang Great Magazines, Do you knew what they told me? They admitted it has gone missing, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY MORE TO SEND OUT!!! Asked if there were any shops near me that sold the magazine & that I could go & buy one. Said they would extend my subscription by one month, HOW GENEROUS! Means I have got to drive 3 miles to town & hope & pray W H Smiths or somewhere have got some left. As you can imagine, I am not amused. Also took ages to get through to a CS rep in the first place.

As of today tuesday still no sign on SR.I spoke with Bauer on saturday who told me no problems with distrubtion. She could send me another which would take approx a week or give me a credit and I could go and buy one.It took a long time to get through to them on saturday,I was told they were very busy dealing with new subscriptions for xmas presents.I bet they would not be as busy if people were aware of how "good" the service was.

One thing I've noticed how much of a lack of coverage Heritage Railway gives the Bluebell. 2 pages on the 50th Anniversary Gala (though there were 3 other images in that issue and some by who I think is a storeman at my college as its the same name and I've seen him down there a few times) but everything else is down to about a paragraph.

But anyway SR, its not the first time I 've had late issues with it but I've had a subscription for about 9 years as my grandad buys as it as Xmas present every year.

And of course you would not be the slightest bit biased in favour of the Bluebell would you. There are other heritage lines you know...
