Exactly, although I noticed on the video linked above that they really opened the Scot up as she got onto the mainline, perhaps a footplate crew grasping a rare opportunity to open her up on the mainline...

Yeah I noticed that 71000 went solo from Southall to the WSR a day or two ago.

Railcam reporting 34067 and 48151 out on the 5M50/5M51 Carnforth - Hellifield - Carnforth test path today. Due out of the loop at 1137.

 

Seen a vid online of the 8F on the front of a POB at Steamtown, but the stock in the yard screened what if anything was on the other end of the POB?

The 8F seems to live a very peculiar life at the moment, its use being very akin to my taking the dog out for a walk.

 

Under threatening skies LMS 8F class No. 48151 works 5M50 through Starricks Farm with SR BoB class No. 34067 'Tangmere' bringing up the rear on their test run out to Hellifield and return.

They were really testing out the 8F yesterday as can be seen in this video posted on Youtube. What a sound from 48151!

Diesel support or dragged? I believe a WCRC is at the diesel bash later in the week.

Was a little light on its feet yesterday in wet rail conditions under heavy dining train.

 

I would assume dragged as Scots Guardman as had it's boiler tubes replaced and I don't believe it's done a test run on the mainline since so I would assume it would require a test run to regain it's certification. But I may be wrong.
